The Goods: Apparently, Dr. Dre is Doing Everything But Releasing ‘Detox’

If you’re one of those people still holding out hope for Dr. Dre’s long-awaited, much-anticipated album Detox, the follow-up to his 1999’s 2001, we’ve got some advice for you: Stop waiting. In the last few years, Dre has basically done everything except release Detox. He’s produced Beats By Dre headphones through Monster, filmed a commercial for Dr. Pepper, worked on creating an Aftermath cognac and vodka, and teamed up with Hewlett-Packard to create the HP Envy 15 Beats limited-edition laptop.

The extra-curricular activities aren’t over, either. Hewlett-Packard just announced they’re continuing their relationship with Dre by featuring him in their brand-new $40 million “Let’s Do Amazing” advertising campaign. Dre will appear alongside other celebrities like photographer Annie Leibovitz and comedian Rhys Darby to help promote the latest HP products. Good for them—bad for anyone that thought 2010 might finally be Detox’s year.—Chris Yuscavage
