The “Stolen” Song: A street freestyle by Philadelphia rapper Spittage
The Case: This wasn’t a bite of an entire song. But someone put up a YouTube video last year showing that deceased Philly rapper Spittage—who lived near Young Chris in Philly and may have been on Hova’s radar at one time—once used a rhyme pattern similar to that of Jay-Z’s on “Run This Town” during a street freestyle.
The Evidence: Jay’s no stranger to “borrowing” flows. But did he really adopt one from an unknown Philly rapper on one of the biggest singles of 2009? Check out the clip below.
