“Oh Boy” (2002)—Cam’Ron feat. Juelz Santana; “I Really Mean It,”  (2003)—The Diplomats

“When I started working with the Dip Set their attitude was definitely different back then. In spite of how everything ended up in later years, when they first came around they were very appreaciative of everything. They were really polite, cool dudes. Everything was ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ That whole era takes me back to “I Really Mean It.” The Dip Set were real super cordial with everybody, which is all the more reason why it’s unfortunate how things eventually ended up between them and Jay.

“Oh Boy” was another song that kind of sat around for about eight or nine months. We had an idea of what we wanted to use it for but it wasn’t happening. But when it came time for Cam to really start on his album, Hip-Hop, who was one of the heads of A&R at Roc-A-Fella, had the beat on the CD. He called me and asked if it was cool to start it off with Cam. They did the entire record in an hour and literally took it to the record station which added it right away. It became a huge radio hit.”
