In late April, award-winning producer DJ Toomp revealed to VIBE that he had just received a call to work on a new Jay-Z album. But according to Toomp it’s looking like the closest thing to a new original Hov album will be his collaborative project with Kanye.

“I had already did a song for Rihanna that Rock City wrote, but when Jay heard it he was like ‘I’m putting another album together I want this.’ I never got to hear it his vocals but they may have decided to not even put that album out because nobody’s spoke on it again,” says Toomp. “It hasn’t been mentioned in months so they may have changed their mind on the whole project.”

The ATL producer also explains that the recorded was along the same vein as Jigga’s smash hit with Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind.”

“It’ll be interesting to see what him and Kanye do with this album. People try and downplay Jay, but that man makes hits. Hits…”
