Mack Maine Reveals First Single From Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter IV’
Doubling both as a Young Money Artist and president of the burgeoning record label, Lil Wayne’s childhood friend Mack Maine recently spoke on the status of Tha Carter IV.
“We definitely dropping it before the end of the year,” Mack told Sway of MTV News. “We ready to go now; we getting it mixed.”. He continued, “[Wayne]’s talking bananas. Some of the rhymes were actually written in jail. First time you all are gonna hear Wayne write in a minute. He actually sat down and wrote this time. It’s amazing.”
Mack also went to reveal the name of the LP’s first single, titled “6’7”. While details aren’t clear on the direction of the record, it’s possible that Weezy’s affinity for sports may have had some influence. Could a cameo from a 6’7 ball player be a possibility?
Currently, an official release date for Tha Carter IV has not yet been set, but the LP will feature all new music from Wayne, including music he penned while serving time in Rikers Island and after his release. —Mikey Fresh
