It’s been over 20 years since Milli Vanilli ran offstage following their lip-synched “Girl You Know It’s True,” but French singer Fab Morvan is determined to make a full comeback with his new group SMFM. Following the release of a solo album in 2003, the lone survivor of Milli Vanilli joined DJ Sean McCraff to create the electronica duo SMFM. The acronym is a mesh of their initials and stands for “Supplying Mirages For Mankind.”

Interesting.

In an interview with People Magazine, Morvan expresses how tough it has been to regain respect as an artist since the 1989 fiasco. “It was difficult to rebuild my life with this stigma,” says Morvan. “But I want ‘Milli Vanilli’ to mean when you fall, you stand up and go forward. And no one can take that away from you.”
