Tiger Woods Severs Ties With Golf Digest
The life of a magazine editor is no easy feat. Add on sessions in sex rehab and a struggle to regain your once unbeatable golf game, and it’s time to call one of the three quits.
Golf Digest magazine, one of the most respected publications in it’s genre, has announced that it will be severing ties with Tiger Woods, who served as a “playing editor” for the mag and contributed a monthly column as well as eclusive photos.
“His last regular column will appear in the February 2011 issue of Golf Digest, at which time he will also leave the masthead. We appreciate the insights Tiger has provided to our readers,” says Jerry Tarde, chairman and editor-in-chief of Golf Digest (NY Post).
Woods has been a part of Golf Digest’s masthead for almost 14 years and was only suspended briefly during his sex scandal. He is currently taking time off from outside commitments to focus on his golf game.
“I enjoyed my relationship with Golf Digest, but we have decided it’s now time for a break. I wish my friends at Golf Digest continued success,” Woods said in a statement.
