Eminem’s Manager Says Rapper Is ‘Thrilled’ With Chrysler Ad; Focused On ‘Rebuilding Shady Records’
The Motor City has few dependable heroes. Currently, Detroit may not have a more identifiable figure than rap icon Eminem. Making a rare appearance in a new Chrysler ad that premiered during Super Bowl 45, Marshall lent his mug and driving skills to a simple visual that shed some positive light onto his trouble hometown.
“Everyone from friends and family, to people I know that are part of the Detroit diaspora were sending me e-mails, calling me: ‘I got goosebumps.’ ‘I shed a tear.’ ‘You guys don’t know what you’ve done, ‘ said Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg in an interview with Billboard. Paul has been with Em for the majority of his career.
He continues: “You can draw the parallels of him going through his struggles, standing up and taking control of his situation and fighting through it and coming up a better man on the other side. It’s a parallel that we drew between himself and the city of Detroit and the automotive companies.” “[He’s] really thrilled,” according to Rosenberg. “He’s always sort of cautious in his own judgment about things he’s involved in or creates until they’re really introduced to the world and he’s got a chance to see how [people] react to them. He’s very pleased with the reaction.”
On track to put his stronger than ever Shady Records imprint back on top of the charts, Eminem has been slowly slithering back into mainstream visibility. Now, with Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf officially signed to the label, the pressure to churn out top-notch music is mounting.
Rosenberg says, “[Eminem] is focused on getting through the Grammys” and then will concentrate on “rebuilding Shady Records and making that brand as strong as we can”. He also danced around some forthcoming concert dates from the multi-platinum rapper, “You’ll be able to see him a few places this year.”
Contrary to rumor, Eminem has not officially signed onto to star in movies Southpaw or Random Acts of Violence.
