Religion And Fashion Collide Over Hindu Swimsuit

Hindus in Australia and the Indian disapora have protested a swimsuit with the Hindu Goddess Lakshmi’s likeness printed on it. According to Global Grind, swimwear designer Lisa Blue halted production and distribution of the suit after controversy and protests erupted following her show at Sydney Fashion Week.

The Hindus’ argument? “Lakshmi was meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not for pushing swimwear in fashion shows for mercantile greed of an apparel company,” Hindu statesman Rajan Zed says.
