Feeling the heat, LeBron James clarified the statement he made during the finals post-game press conference on Sunday.

When asked if he was bothered by so many people happy to see him fail, the king without a crown responded,

“Absolutely not. Because at the end of the day, all the people that was rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They have the same personal problems they had today. I’m going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do with me and my family and be happy that. They can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on a being happy about not only myself, but the Miami Heat not accomplishing their goal, but they have to get back to the real world at some point.”

After a Miami Heat exit meeting on Tuesday, however, LeBron says we just misunderstood what he meant. He wasn’t saying he was superior over anyone.

“I would never, ever look at myself better than any of you guys sitting here or anybody that watches our game, or anybody that would look at me as a professional basketball player. I’m not superior to anyone. So, it may have come off wrong,” he said, according to Bossip

The basketball player finally humbled himself, further admitting that he sort of blamed himself for the team’s loss and thinks he could have played better. He said he put a lot of pressure on himself to not let his teammates down.

“I’m not satisfied with my performance,” James said. “I definitely have to get better individually to help my team to reach my goal.”

We might be misinterpreting his statement now too: help the team reach his goal or his goal to help the team? We’ll let you be the judge.   Aliya Faust
