From C+C – From Run DMC’s “My Adidas” to the hip hop-coined nickname for Christian Louboutins “red bottoms,” rappers’ fondness for fashion brands is as old as hip hop itself. Recently, however, Soulja Boy took it to new lows.

The rapper’s new mixtape is called “Bernard Arnault EP” and is a tribute to the luxury fashion house, Louis Vuitton. In the “Louis Vuitton” song, Soulja Boy mentions the brand 63 times. He also name drops LVHM’s CEO Bernard Arnault but mistakenly calls him “Robert Arnault” on tracks Texas” and “Fire Blunts” instead. Sigh.

Some lyrics: “Louis Louis, all she keeps saying is Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton, Louis Vuitton. Louis Louis, all she keeps saying is Louis Louis Louis, all she keeps saying is Louis Vuitton Louis Vuitton. I came out the water, LV shades on, swagging cross the border…”
