J. Cole’s Debut Album on Pace to Sell Over 240K Copies
J.Cole is having the best week ever, his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story dropped and set to take the number one spot on Billboard charts. His debut album is predicted to push over 240K units in it’s first week of sales.
He will be the first solo artist to have their debut album hit number-one, since B.o.B. did it in May of 2010 with The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The album pushed over 86k in it’s initial week of sales.
Next up, he’s collaborating with Chris Brown on DJ Drama’s latest album, Third Power. The Atlanta DJ is releasing his new album on October 11 and spoke with MTV about how he and producer V12 the Hitman developed the idea of getting Chris Brown and J.Cole to work on the track, titled “Undercover”.
“We were searching for tracks for Chris,” Drama explained “We got something, Chris went in. I thought about it for a minute: Who hasn’t he worked with, who hasn’t he been on a record with.”
After excluding majority of the rappers out right now, Roc Nation’s newcomer came to mind. DJ Drama also hopes that Chris Brown and J.Cole’s talents and charisma appeals to the female fans.
“I think the ladies gonna like this one.” With these two heartthrobs together, it will positively get women interested in checking this song out. –Brittny Pierre
