Boss Vixen: Taylor Swift Named Billboard’s 2011 “Woman Of The Year”
Even though Kanye West didn’t really let Taylor Swift finish her 2009 VMA acceptance speech (Beyoncé did), the 21-year-old country singing starlet has gone on to put up record-breaking numbers. By being the highest selling artists of any genre in the past year, Swift has gained the coveted title as 2011 “Woman of the Year” and will be honored at the 2011 Billboard Women in Music event.
While performing across the globe on her Speak Now World Tour, the Grammy Award-winning artist has the most interesting love affair with hip-hop. Inviting T.I., Usher, B.o.B and Nicki Minaj to share a stage with her during her career has several urban music fans taking a second glance.
On the night of Dec. 2, NYC will celebrate the most talented and powerful women in the music biz. With four Grammys, a five-time platinum album and over a handful of charted hits, we’d say Swift fits the role comfortably.
And ‘Ye can’t tell her nothing.
