Estelle Says New Album Is “Extremely Personal,” Praises Hip Hop Cypher Performance
Singer Estelle has been a very busy girl. Between finishing her latest album and performing on the BET Hip-Hop Awards, she had a photo shoot for the cover of PYNK magazine’s Winter issue at New York City’s TAJ. Hypnotiq caught up with the Vixen to hear all about the new album, her BET performance and her musical inspirations.
About her album All of Me, she says:
“This album took me three years to record I had to literally live through some things to get itdone. It’s an album that is extremely personal. Every single song that you’re hearing — “Thank You,” “Break My Heart,” “Wonderful Life,” “Back to Love” — all these records are super personal, on a level I’ve never ever worked at before. I’m happy with it, I’m excited, I’m scared, just a mx of emotions.”
To those talking slick about her cypher performance, she says:
“Don’t be mad, you’re probably upset because I’ve got higher bars than you.”
