Twentieth Century Fox is looking to revive the TV series Soul Food, an inside source tells FishbowlLA.
The original Soul Food ran on Showtime from 2000 to 2004, and was based on the 1997 film of the same name. The film and TV series were about the trials and tribulations of an African American family in Chicago deaks with the loss of their matriarch.
Now, Fox is looking to revamp the series for a new generation. The project is still in early stages of development, but executives at the company are said to like the idea. There’s no word yet on whether any of the original cast from the movie or Showtime series will be involved in the new project.
