There’s another actress turned musician on the rise, and its Taraji P. Henson. The actress, known for her work in Karate Kid and Hustle & Flow, recently revealed to The Juice that she got a record deal. She spoke on the deal at the BET’s Black Girls Rock red carpet:

“I just signed a contract for a record deal. I did, but it has to be something special. I’m not interested in disposable music…I believe people want to hear it, so you have to give the people what they want.”

Taraji seems to be making big moves already in the music arena, as she’s featured on Mary J. Blige’s My Life 2: The Journey Continues album. Spitting a quick verse on “Get it Right,” Taraji raps about an old love who lost her. Check out the song below and tell us, does Taraji have a future in music?
