Common has his hands full these days—in between releasing his latest album The Dreamer, The Beliver, making his TV debut on the series Hell On Wheels, and spitting a few jabs at Drake, the Chicago MC will star in the anticipated indie film LUV, which premieres at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.

Common plays an ex-con freshly released from prison who decides to take his 11-year-old nephew under his wing. This film is the directorial debut of Sheldon Candis and also stars Danny Glover, Charles S. Dutton, and Dennis Haysbert. The hype and buzz swarming around LUV has made it a candidate to premiere on the silver screen later this year. –Tanya Chen
