Red Tails opened in theaters this weekend, earning an impressive $19.1 million in its first four days.

To the surprise of many Hollywood’s top producers the film did exceptionally well and continues to gain positive reviews. The story follows the lives of the Tuskegee airmen as they made history during World War II. A number of well known producers backed away from investing in the film, but the legendary George Lucas took the risk and funded the film himself.

The all African American cast which includes Terrance Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr. Nate Parker, Ne-Yo, Tristan Wilds, David Oleyowo, Elijah Kelley, along with some amazing special effects brought the film to movie. If you haven’t seen the film already, be sure to head out to theaters and support it!
