R&B crooner Usher is once again experimenting with his sound with the latest track “Climax”. Critically acclaimed producer Diplo produced the dance track.
We must give props to the Atlanta native who hasn’t been afraid to take on records outside of his traditional R&B flavor following his 2010 chart topper “OMG” from his sixth album, Raymond v. Raymond. Diplo took to Twitter to talk about the new track that meticulously dropped on Valentine’s Day, calling the record: “seriously the best records ive been part of” and “some next level electrosoul.” However, he went back to Twitter, tweeting, “Damn I wish I didn’t say electro soul..Ee I hadn’t slept in like 65 hours when I wrote that. Its more like radiohead quietstorm.. #climax.”
During a Twitter conversation between super producer and singer, Diplo hinted that he may have other tracks on Usher’s next album. “They seriously arent ready for the rest of your album…#gamechanging,” he tweeted.
“Climax” also features strings from classical music composer Nico Muhly who’s had credit with songstress Björk. -Johnathan Cruse
