In yet another week of surprises, American Idol didn’t fail to disappoint with a first time save and blowing vocal performance by Jennifer Hudson and Ne-Yo.

Surprisngly, the bottom three this week included Joshua Ledet, Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone. Sanchez, judge favorite, were of course shocked and Steven Tyler announced “We’re gonna use our card tonight, especially with an outcome like this.” Randy Jackson, also shocked by the results stated, “America got it wrong tonight. They got it so wrong.”

After Ledet was saved, and Testone spared, Sanchez began to sing to be saved in the competition. The judges stopped her immediately. “We’re not letting you sing, this is crazy. Yes, we’re using the save. We are saving Jessica without any doubt,” they said.

Former Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson took to the stage with R&B crooner Ne-Yo and sang “Think Like a Man.” It was good to see Jennifer embracing her roots of where she got her actual start.

Talk about a show filled with drama, now that the save has been used, Randy and Steven say it’s anyone’s game.
