Hipstamatic x Fashion Photog Chiun-Kai Shih Create Limited Edition Lens
Running low on your excitement for Instagram filters? Get familiar with Hipstamatic’s Made in America HipstaPak.
The popular iPhone app teamed up with fashion photographer, Chunky (Chiun-Kai Shih), to reinvent the look of classic USA beauty. The HipstaPak includes the Americana Lens, Old Glory Camera Case, Blanko Freedom 13 Film and US1776 Film. A word to the wise? Snag the base model (Hipstamatic 235) for $1.99 to begin, then add the soft light-blurring package for $0.99.
Founder of the almost two-year-old picture-taking application, Lucas Buick wants people to get hip to storytelling and detail their lives in America through pics.
“A melting pot of people and ideas, America is a place where people have the freedom to create. We hope the Americana lens encourages Hipstamatic users to capture their own journeys, redefining what it means to live in America” he says. “This year, we’re urging people to put their own spin on ‘Americana,’ and inspire others through visual storytelling.”
Shih adds: “America is made up of millions of voices, visions, and ideas. I wanted to create a lens with Hipstamatic and a showcase for the raw talent that survives and thrives as part of the American dream.”
The new FreePak made its debut earlier this year during New York Fashion Week where nine designers got a jump start on the limited edition lens. Andrew Buckler of Converse, Phil Russo of Cole Haan and others captured their journey as they navigated Gotham in search of fashion.
