Mark our words: Jay-Z is about to come out swinging with his Roc Nation roster! He recently sat down with MTV News—shortly after his press conference to announce the ‘Made In America’ music Festival—to talk about two of his prized musicians: Jay Electronica and Rita Ora On Jay Electonica’s “untraditional” marketability and debut album: “I love that, I want to support that sort of energy. I want people to be creative and not traditional, not just a single [at] this time, this time [and] this time. You know, he operates at his own time, but the album is really close.” “[The debut album is] exactly what it should be—it’s amazing. Him as a lyricist is almost scary. He’s scary good. I’m doing something to it that’s really untraditional, so we’ll see how it works.” On Rita Ora’s energy: “She’s one of the people that, if you were in the position, you say, ‘I’m gonna help her get her dream out and then we’ll see what happens. I think her energy is infectious, because out the gate, two #1s in London and she’ll just continue to grow from there.” Check out the videos below of Jay-Z’s opinions on both artist:
