VIBE’s Weekly Kick Picks: ‘DunkXChange NYC’ Edition

| May 25, 2012 - 5:11 pm

We’re back for another round of VIBE Kick Picks—bringing you the hottest kick game in the five boroughs, and then some!

This week we were at Chelsea Piers for the NYC stop of DunkXChange—known to many simply as DXC. This special event is a place where sneakerheads all over the city united to buy, sell, trade, and simply appreciate sneakers. We saw Grape V’s, OG III’s, Air Force 180s, Dunks, Dunks, and more Dunks, and a host of other exclusive shit! Attendees were also treated to live performances by Jadakiss (who we got to catch up with on his footwear), Vado, and a host of other up-and-coming rap talent.

So let’s start it off and cheack out the first dope pair that we saw:

The Shoe: Air Force 1 (Nike ID Custom)

The Sneakerhead: Damian Rodriguez,

The Story: “I always wanted a pair of Supreme Dunks, but I could never afford a pair. When added the cement option on Nike ID, I just had to recreate the classic sneaker in my style. I threw on the neon laces to give it a little twist.”
