Anti-Human-Trafficking Campaign Gains Jada as a Supporter
The non-profit organization Dontsellbodies.org has two celebrities voices in its corner in the fight against human trafficking (which is especially rampant in parts of north-eastern Africa, the majority of Asia and South America, and south-eastern Europe) with Jada Pinkett-Smith and her daughter Willow Smith.
As vocal supporters of this benevolent campaign, Pinkett-Smith has released an emotional music video to alert others about the issue, and she sings entirely in Spanish for the song “Nada” (meaning “nothing”) about the deplorable journey of sexual exploitation.
“Nada” was recorded with her band Wicked Evolution and was directed by Salma Hayek. It features Pinkett-Smith nude (but gracefully covered by her hands and arms) singing on a mattress and an empty dirt house, with shots of young women captured and made into victims.
On June 19th, Jada and Will Smith visited the White House for the released document of the U.S. Department of Justice’s 2012 Human Trafficking Report with the Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, present.
