Though Janet Jackson has been on a temporary hiatus from the spotlight, she plans to light up the big screen with her newest endeavor: executive producer of a transgender documentary.
According to a press release, the New York-based Brainchild Films announced that the 46-year-old Grammy award winner will be working on Truth that documents the lives and struggles of members in the transgender community. Production will begin in the summer with Jackson conducting some of the on-camera interviews.
The movie’s director Robert Jason says that it will cover stories from people throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Latin America.
Jackson said she is working on the project to stop discrimination of transgender people.
