Wyclef Jean Will Perform At Upcoming Republican National Convention

If you’re familiar with Wyclef Jean’s previous support of President Barack Obama’s electoral run back in 2008, this may be a bit of a head-scratcher.

Defend reports that Wyclef has been tapped to perform at the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida on August 29th. Clef will replace country music singers Willie Nelson and Randy Travis, who actually turned down the performance.

The event will be hosted by John McCain’s daughter Meghan and wife Cindy, Republican governors, and members of Congress.
