Rashida Jones Talks New Film, Endorsing Obama in Flaunt Magazine
Jones has broken the quirky-nerd frames and jumped into something sexier for Flaunt Magazine. The actress is more known for her shy, quiet and trendy demeanor, especially as Leslie Knope’s best friend Ann Perkins on Parks and Recreation (The comedy returns for its fifth season in tonight at 9:30 p.m. on NBC.) But something’s different this time around, and Jones is letting everyone know about it.
The 36-year-old has been busier than ever, producing and screen writing her first film, Celeste and Jesse Forever, a comedy that was loosely based on her relationship with her best friend. Jones tells Flaunt about how she had to take matters into her own hands with her career, “I knew I had more in me than just the supportive friend or the girlfriend,” says Jones. “If there was a time where I was going to do it, it was going to be now. I was either going to blow it or not.”
The film stars Jones with SNL alumni Andy Samberg, Wilfred’s Elijah Wood, and Perks of Being a Wallflower star Emma Roberts. The film also breaks the rules of a conventional indie flick; no one falls in love but two friends fall out of love and wonder around each other before officially breaking up.
