A different Rihanna shows up on “Half of Me,” a bonus track that appears on the deluxe edition of RiRi’s upcoming seventh album Unapologetic. A departure from Rihanna’s party tracks, “Half of Me” highlights her powerful vocal cords thanks to the strong songwriting from U.K. singer/songwriter Emeli Sande and producer Naughty Boy on the track. RiRi takes it down an octave on the emotional lovelorn piano ballad singing, “You’re entitled to your opinion, sitting shake your head at my decision/ I guess the kind of songs that I’ve been singing, make it seem as if I was winning/ But you saw me on the television… but that’s just the half of it,” she sings. Rihanna is currently in the middle of her 777 tour, a jet-setting escapade she is hosting for fans and media that is hitting up seven cities in seven days. “Half of Me” has not been performed at any of the tour stops yet.
