Hardwell shook the walls and floors of HQ club at Revel in Atlantic City, Saturday, Nov 24. VIBE caught up with 24-year-old Dutch DJ, born Robbert von de Corput, moments before he hit the booth to deliver a monstrous set.

VIBE: Who is on your wish list of hip-hop artists that you would love to produce a track for?
HARDWELL: Eminem, Drake, Kanye West, all the good rappers. I’m a serious hip-hop guy. I started out as a hip-hop DJ so I would love to do that one day.

What’s the next big festival that you’re looking forward to?
I’m always looking forward to all the festivals, because I’m a real festival kind of guy, and that’s one of the reasons all of the people describe my sound as a big room sound – it fits best in festivals. I’m really looking forward to the new EDC, the new Ultra and Tomorrowland. I’m also going to do the Future Music Festival in Australia.

How will your set differ tonight at Revel from last night in NYC at Pacha?
It always depends on the crowd. I’m a DJ that plays for the crowd, so I can never play exactly the same set every night. There is going to be a lot of tracks in common, but I’m testing out a lot of new stuff as well.

Last year, MTV named you as one particular EDM artist to definitely keep an eye on. What EDM artist for 2013 do you think we should keep an eye on?

There’s one guy – more guys of course – but one guy you should definitely keep an eye on, and that’s Dyro. New guy from Holland, he’s 20-years-old and he’s making amazing tracks and is an amazing performer. In my eyes, he’s the next big superstar DJ.

If the supposed the apocalypse occurs this December, where would you want to spend it and who with?
Actually we have a gig in Glasgow, so I have no choice. I’m just doing a gig at that point, but I think if we are all going to die all together it’s good that I’m still dying in my natural habitat in the DJ booth, right?

Any New Year’s Resolutions you want to stick to for 2013?
That’s always a hard one, but I think I’m going to go for spending more time with my family and friends. That’s still one of the most important things in life, and I know it’s hard because of the schedule and the touring everyday, but yeah, I think that’s a good resolution to stick to.
