VIBE’s Daily Additions to the ‘Pod

1. Dawn Richard – “On A String”
When Dawn sings soft ballads like this, she really shines through with some quality material. This one doesn’t disappoint. Overall, this is a quality R&B record for you guys to rock to.

2. Christina Aguilera – “Blank Page”
Xtina seems to find her comfort zone when she can really belt out her feelings. At the high points of “Blank Page,” she definitely delivers her signature runs with a sincere, crisp vibe to it. This one will only sound better when she performs it live.

3. Rye Rye – “In My Zone”
Rye Rye mixes her eclectic sound into a deep, Throne-sampled beat. It definitely has a gritty feel, but her naive-like cadence allows the song to keep its overall fun essence.

4. RaVaughn (Feat. Wale) – “Better Be Good”
Finding an equal balance of contemporary and throwback, ReVaughn borrows from the best of her mentor Ne-Yo’s style on this track. Midway through, Wale comes through and works his way into the feel of the song comfortably—as expected, of course. Don’t be surprised if you catch yourself subconsciously electric-sliding to this joint.

5. Young Scooter ft. Gucci Mane & Oj Da Juiceman – Street Lights
Unfortunately, this one isn’t quite memorable. There’s a point where this starts sounding like every other Gucci Mane song you’ve ever heard before.

6. Mickey Factz – #Ynot (Mixtape)
#Ynot delivers some solid production, even experimenting with different genres like House (as heard on the mixtape cut “Radio?Active”). The track that stands out the most to us would probably be “Love?,” which mixes nice wordplay with a soulful, chill-back instrumental. The end result is a project thats respectable more-so than remarkable.
