Vixen Inspiration: Evaluate Your Friendships
It’s safe to say that friendship is a vital part of the human experience. In my book Pervis Principles, I explain that friends are like mirrors. They should reflect all they see in you: the beauty and the things needed to be improved. This is a measure of a friend. I encounter so many people who have acquaintances but are giving them the access and the authority of a friend.
Today, evaluate the people in your life. Are they being mirrors or shades? A friend will love you in your mess and know that the situation is only temporary. A friend will pray on your behalf and defend your honor against the haters. A friend will know your character when others speak against it. This is what the friends I have in my life would do for me. I’d also do it for them. We all have our own set of standards.
Vixens, I implore you this week to take stock of the friends in your life. Develop your own checklist and see if they measure up. Check to see if you measure up. I want to give you a word of caution: if they don’t measure up, it doesn’t mean they are a bad person, just means they can’t occupy the space of friend in your life. If you’re like me, you’ll notice that the list dwindles down to a few. God designed it that way on purpose; more can be done with a few than with a lot.
I hope you have a fantastic week!
