Katt Williams Arrested for Endangering His Own Children

Katt Williams has been taken into custody again, this time for endangering his four kids.

The comedian was arrested at his Woodland Hills, Calif. home on Friday (Dec. 28) for child endangerment. According to the Terrani Law Firm, “Child endangerment occurs when an adult caregiver places a child in a dangerous or inappropriate situation. While not technically the same as child abuse since it does not involve directly causing harm, child endangerment carries stiff penalties up to and including prison time.”

Williams has been making the news rounds since November for his bizarre behavior which has included slapping a Target employee, taking police on a semi-wild goose chase through the sidewalks of Sacramento, and other various arrests. For the cherry on top, he was slapped with a $4 million tax lien by the IRS.

The LAPD picked up Williams after an investigation by the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services believed that Williams’ home was not a safe environment for his children, exposing them to guns and drugs. Various items were seized during his arrest.

In mid-December, an anonymous letter from a Williams associate was posted on the Necole Bitchie blog that firmly stated his children, whom he has custody of, were “the REAL victims” of his public meltdowns. “He’s taken them out of school for 2 years,” read the letter, which also blamed Williams’ erratic behavior on manic depression. “They are witnessing his erratic behavior and they’re soon going to need help as well.”

Williams’ kids have been placed in protective custody as he sits in jail on $100,000 bond. Williams could possibly face felony charges for endangering his kids when the case goes to the district attorney next week.

This whole Katt Williams meltdown thing has spiraled from entertaining to plain sad.

UPDATE: Williams says only weed, which he doesn’t consider a drug, was confiscated from his home. He also told TMZ, “If the police come in and raid my place and break into my gun boxes, you’re gonna find guns! I’m not in a gang, what difference does it make?”
