New Music: The Hood Internet “Feat Remixes”

| December 17, 2012 - 7:00 pm

Straight from Chi-town is the latest remix package, courtesy of Hood Internet to finish off 2012 with some bass. In today’s music industry, one throws the term “genre-bender” around loosely, but this dance duo truly embodies it with FEAT REMIXES (drops tomorrow, Dec 18th).

“Do You Give Up Now (Big Data Remix)” (see below), starts out with some old school ’80s beats and rhymes (dished out by Donwill), then takes a turn 50 seconds in when fused the smooth, pop vocals from My Gold Mask. The tune even sports a mad-classy jazz piano solo in the middle, making it the ultimate triple threat in genre blending. And this is only one track on the album, which is to sport a collection of remixes from the Hood Internet’s tour mates, as well as indie-disco up-and-comers.

Also be sure to catch Hood Internet as they finish off the year performing in three more locations, including a New Year’s Eve bash in their hometown’s Beauty Bar:

12/19/12 Washington, DC U Street Music Hall
12/21/12 New York, NY Drom
12/31/12 Chicago, IL Beauty Bar
