This Week on the Decks: JOHN DIGWEED

VIBE: What can we expect from your performance at BPM Fest?
John Digweed: I have always been known for playing new and upfront music so expect some great new music during my set. as it’s an outdoor beach party the music will lean towards that summery vibe with an underground influence.

Which act are you most looking forward to catching if you have time? Why?
I arrive that day so don`t really have much time at BPM this year I will try to head down to the closing party with Danny Tenaglia before heading back to the cold and wet in Europe.

BPM Festival means: (INSERT THREE WORDS)!
Best winter festival

Best reason you can think of for going to the BPM Festival 2013?
Firstly everything always seems a bit flat after christmas and the new years eve parties so this is a great chance to continue the party and even better that it`s in a beautiful location with amazing day and evening parties. If you are into forward thinking DJs and not the big room commercial DJs this event will satisfy all your musical needs. and lastly I am hosting a Bedrock stage this year at Kool Beach on the last day of the festival January 13th so make sure you come and check me out then.

Tips to surviving all the parties for BPM Festival first timers?
You have so much world class DJ talent make sure you pace yourself and try and get to see as many DJs as possible It’s going to be hot so get some suncream on if you’re out in the day partying and try and match a bottle of water with every 2 or 3 tequila shots as you don`t want to miss some of the stand out events.

Latest or upcoming release we should pay attention to?
Just released a new CD called ‘Live in London’ that is a 4 x CD and digital download of a nearly 5 hour set of mine at Bedrock’s anniversary at Fire in London. I was so happy with the party it made sense to release the mix as an official release. With over 50 tracks this really does showcase a extended set from myself.
