After undergoing surgery on his left knee Tuesday (Dec. 4), WWE star CM Punk is expected to make a full recovery.

Dr. James Andrew conducted a complete scope on Punk’s knee and said it was a successful operation, WWE.com states.

“CM Punk underwent knee surgery today to remove a piece of torn meniscus that had locked up his knee,” said Andrews’ colleague, WWE physician Dr. Chris Amann. “The surgery, performed by Dr. James Andrews, went smoothly and CM Punk is expected to make a full recovery.”

Though Punk was not scheduled to fight during this week’s “Monday Night Raw,” Ryback challenged then threw the WWE Champion through a table. It is unclear whether the scuffle caused the injury. It’s unclear how long Punk will be out of commission but he is reportedly not going to participate in the upcoming Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay–per-view.
