5 Ways to Celebrate MLK Day
1. Tune into the POTUS’ public inauguration.
Couldn’t make it to DC for the live action? Don’t fret; every major news network will be airing President Obama’s inauguration at 12 noon (Jan. 21).
2. Honor Dr. King’s heritage.
MLK was a native son of Georgia, so whip up some southern comfort food. Put together a gospel playlist and today a good ol’ family affair.
3. Watch a Civil Rights documentary.
If you have cable, multiple channels will feature documentaries and special on MLK and the movement he started. At 8:30 p.m., PBS will air Roads to Memphis, a James Earl Jones-narrated special on the events that led to King’s assassination in 1968.
