Robin Roberts Returns to Good Morning America
It was a great morning for ABC’s Good Morning America as veteran anchor Robin Roberts made her television return after a bone marrow transplant that took her out of action for six months.
She was received with a warm welcome from her a.m. cohorts and other big names including Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton and the Obamas, who told Roberts they were “thinking about you and praying for you and rooting for you every step of the way.”
Roberts was glowing in a bright blue ensemble and radiant smile, though her physicians called today’s appearance “a dress rehearsal.” The GMA co-host has been testing her physical limits by slowly easing back into her regular routine before solidifying a more permanent schedule. “I don’t care who the interview is with: If you’re not well enough to go, you’re not going,” said one of her doctors, Dr. Gail Roboz. “That’s what I want to hear,” Roberts replied.
Always the positive light on Twitter, she kicked off her comeback day with the tweet, “Truly is the dawn of a new day…”
Welcome back, Robin!
