Last night’s awards were full of surprises, emotion and… controversy. We have the results from the 85th Academy Awards for your perusal.

History was made in spades last night as Hollywood celebrated its biggest night on February 24 at the Oscars. Host Seth MacFarlane (Ted) managed to offend and amaze those in attendance with his brand of humor. For the first time ever, the 85th annual Academy Awards included a wide array of box office hits, including six films with grosses over $100 million (Argo, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook were in the ‘Best Picture’ category alone).

The history making didn’t end there. The 2013 Oscars ceremony also included the induction of Daniel Day-Lewis (Lincoln into the level of rarefied status. The methodical method actor won his third Best Actor Oscar, setting an Academy Awards record. Meanwhile, Ben Affleck became only the fourth director in the 85-year history of the Academy Awards to see his film, Argo, win Best Picture without a subsequent nomination for Best Director.
