$22 Minimum Wage? Sen. Warren Says So

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren says a $22 minimum wage would be fair given current levels of worker productivity.

Sen. Warren brought up the $22 minimum wage during a Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions last week, a stark contrast from the current Federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. She claims the payment gap is especially egregious given how wages have increased for the top 1% of earners in the last 50 years.

Warren says she supports incremental steps to get the minimum wage over $10 an hour – a long way from a $22 minimum wage, but definitely a good step for workers.
