Wale stopped by Philly’s Power 99 to chat with Mina SayWhat about his upcoming projects, changing his style and making tracks for the ladies.

Wale’s schedule has included a mixtape every year since 2005. 2011 was his busiest year, that saw the MMG rapper release his sophomore album Ambition, his seventh mixtape The Eleven One Eleven Theory and the Maybach collaborative album Self Made Vol. 1. Since, the self-proclaimed DC ambassador has stayed busy releasing his Folarin mixtape last Christmas Eve, touring and releasing new videos rather frequently. He isn’t stopping anytime soon.

“I’m dropping my third solo album first, then a couple months after I’ll probably drop the Nothing project,” he recently told Power 99. “I’m very creative, I’m knee deep in that joint. It’s kind of like a personal thing; I design my records and the sound a certain way for two different projects.”

When asked about the sound of his upcoming album, Wale replied, “It’s very, very soulful … Bad is a pretty good indication of the direction I’m going for this project.” He also confirmed that the collaborative mixtape with labelmate Meek Mill is still in the works, but will follow each of his solo endeavors.
