The FBI has released Whitney Houston’s protection files, and it’s clear the deceased songstress had some strange fans.

The Whitney Houston FBI files point to multiple “crazy fans” who harassed the singer during her lifetime. Houston enlisted the help of the FBI to investigate the threats, which ranged from violence to blackmail.

A man in Vermont threatened to hurt people if Houston did not acknowledge him. Another man tried to extort her for $250,000 by threatening to reveal intimate details of her sex life. Even her international fans were investigated, like a Dutch man who claimed he was “King of Europe.”

The Whitney Houston FBI files show that the singer’s life was more complicated than anyone could imagine – not many normal people received dozens and dozens of letters from the same person begging for a response.
