10 Artists Lauryn Hill Should Work With On Her New Music
Reason: Lauryn reportedly owes more than $900,000 in back taxes. And one of the ways she convinced a judge to have mercy on her was to reveal that she signed a $1 million deal with Sony Music last summer in exchange for five new songs. She’s obligated to record them at some point in the near future to pay off her tax debt. There’s one small problem, though. L Boogie hasn’t actually recorded in more than 15 years (at least, not to our knowledge). Where does she even start?
And there’s one big thing that’s changed since 1998 when she released The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill: If she wants to hold peoples’ attention—and, more importantly, excite new fans who weren’t even born when Miseducation dropped—she’ll need some collabos. To help her out, we put together a list of 10 artists the singer/rapper should get into the studio with. We hope this helps move her creative process along.
