First Listen: Detroit Grand Pubahs “Acid Dreams” (Full EP Stream)

| April 2, 2013 - 8:53 pm

Techno’s favorite “sandwich” makers are back, with a tasty acid-soaked EP on Chicago house master DJ Pierre’s new label AA Trax. The “Acid Dreams” EP (drops April 16th) by Detroit Grand Pubahs (Mack Goudy Jr./Paris The Black Fu, Oliver Way/Mr. O) will be the first release on the label, Afro Acid Tracks, set up by DJ Pierre (Nathaniel Pierre Jones) to bridge the sonic divide between EDM’s roots and its current explosion. After all, before EDM was dropping bass, it was dropping acid. DJ Pierre, who describes AA Trax as a natural extension of his pan-musical Afro-Acid concept, says ‘’We are very excited to have them kick off AA TRAX’’. Listening to the remixes by Angel Alanis, Jamroc and Dan’Ascenzo, it’s not hard to see why.
