Ryan Gosling Shoots Bank Robbery Scene Among Real Customers
Ryan Gosling takes his craft seriously.
While shooting the film The Place Beyond the Pines, Gosling told the UK’s Telegraph that they filmed the bank robbery with real customers for more genuine reactions. The mission was aborted, however, after customers were more interested in snapping flicks of the actor.
“I’m there with the gun and I look down and people are just smiling,” Gosling said. “They were just enjoying the show and I think I spotted someone filming me on their camera phone as I robbed the place.”
The realism utilized by director Derek Cianfrance was a rewarding experience for the 32-year-old nonetheless. “In the bank scene, everyone in that film other than me works at that bank or goes to that bank so you’re constantly trying to reach the level of realism that they’re naturally at,” Gosling, who plays a carnival stunt man turned robber, told MovieClips.com.
“I’ve been thinking about a bank robbery my whole life and I finally got to do it.”
