Famous Newscaster and ‘Scarface’ Actor Dies
TV newsman and Scarface actor Mario Machado died this weekend at the age of 78.
The Scarface actor dies after a decades-long career as a newscaster in Los Angeles, as well as several roles in films including the iconic 1983 Al Pacino gangster flick, as well as roles in Robocop and Oh God!
Machado was the first Asian-American newscaster in the LA area. According to IMDB, he was born in China in 1935 and appeared in more than 40 films and television series over his career.
He died Saturday after complications from pneumonia.
