Festival Review: Movement Detroit Brings Back Tech Soul

There’s no doubt that Detroit’s Movement Electronic Music Festival is the place to be over Memorial Day weekend. Formerly known as DEMF, the festival began back in 2000 under the guidance of techno pioneers Derrick May and his protégé Kevin Saunderson. Now under management by Detroit-based promoters Paxahau, the festival has steadily grown since its inception into a globally relevant and highly anticipated event.

With five stages spanning over fourteen acres of Hart Plaza, 100 artists came to play this past weekend at Movement Detroit while music lovers gathered from both near and far to get their groove on to the sweet rhythm and soul that is Detroit techno.
