No, “Galifianakis homeless woman” is not the comedian’s newest character.

Zach Galifianakis will take a homeless woman to the premiere of his new film, The Hangover III, and the story is a great one. The Daily News reports that the comedian met Elizabeth “Mimi” Haist years ago at a laundromat, and when he found out the woman was homeless, he got her an apartment and has been paying her rent ever since.

Galifianakis’ homeless woman Haist has accompanied the actor to multiple Hollywood events and has met other celebs as well, many of whom have pitched in to help her stay on her feet. The 87-year-old woman is now friends with actress Renee Zellweger, whom she met through Galifianakis.

Funny and a good heart – Zach Galifiankakis has it all.
