Three Missing Cleveland Women Found 10 Years After Disappearance
After a decade-long search, Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight were found in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday evening (May 6). Berry was declared missing on April 21, 2003 while Knight and DeJesus disappeared in 2002 and 2004, respectively.
Neighbor Charles Ramsey told news reporters he heard screaming coming from next door and went to investigate the commotion. That’s when he saw Berry pleading for help to be released from the house. After an intense battle with breaking down the door, Ramsey and another witness freed the women, leading Berry to call 911 and inform the police officials of her situation.
“I’ve been kidnapped, and I’ve been missing for 10 years. And I’m here. I’m free now,” Berry told the dispatcher.
According to the Cleveland police reports, the suspects are Ariel Castro, 52, along with his brothers O’neal, 50, and Pedro, 54.
