5 Reasons Summer Is The Perfect Time For MMG’s ‘Self-Made Vol. 3′ To Drop

For the third straight year, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wale, and the rest of the Maybach Music Group label will be releasing a Self Made compilation album. Self Made Vol. 3—which will include the new song, “Poor Decisions,” featuring Wale, Rick Ross, and Lupe Fiasco—is scheduled to hit stores on August 6. According to Ross, the album came about because of all the great music that the MMG artists have recorded so far in 2013. “A lot of times you’ll get in the studio with your homey and collaborate on a record that may not necessarily fit with [your] body of work,” he told MTV recently. “It’s something…really super dope, but it’s only [one] way you can present it—in a form like this.”

It’s right on time, too. With most of MMG’s major releases scheduled to drop later this year, this summer is a great time for the label to hit us with Self Made Vol. 3. But that’s not the only reason it makes sense for MMG to drop it. Here are 5 other reasons we’re glad to hear that Self Made Vol. 3 will be hitting stores later this summer.
