Kidnap Victim Amanda Berry Makes First Public Appearance at Nelly Concert [Video]
Amanda Berry, one of three victims held captive for 10 years in Ohio, is finally getting back to a normal life. The 27-year old made her first public appearance at the annual Roverfest Concert where rapper Nelly brought the survivor on stage during his set.
“That’s how you tell the pulse of a city by the people that live there. I appreciate it. Since they up here right now, I want to make sure that we get a chance to thank you because I know it’s a long time and I can’t even imagine the type of strength and the type of courage that it took to keep it going. So for that I commend you and I say thank you,” he said to the guest of honor.
Last week, Amanda’s captor Ariel Castro was sentenced to over 1,000 in prison after pleading guilty to 937 counts of kidnapping, rape and child endangerment. Although the other two victims, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight have yet to face the public, they joined Michelle in a thank you video to all of their supporters:
